How the Process Works

Every project is a little different, but most follow the same general path, starting with a conversation and ending with the work completed and the site ready for use.

1. Call and Initial Conversation

The first step is simply describing what you’re looking at. We talk through the property, the concern, or the project and determine what type of visit or evaluation is needed.

2. Site Visit and Evaluation

We visit the property to look at conditions on-site. Depending on the project, this may involve reviewing the layout, access, grading, clearing, or septic location.

3. Estimate and Planning

After reviewing the site, we explain the options and provide an estimate. Once the plan is clear, we schedule the work in the proper order.

4. Completion of the Work

The work is completed according to the plan so the property is ready for its intended use, whether that involves site preparation, excavation, or septic-related work.

Septic Projects — Additional Steps

Septic work requires additional steps beyond a typical excavation project. The process below applies specifically to septic installation or replacement.

Soil Evaluation

We coordinate the soil evaluation to determine where a septic system can be installed and what type of system is allowed.

Coordination With the Soil Scientist

If a soil scientist is involved, we coordinate the visit and review the results so the system design matches the property conditions.

Permitting

Before installation or repair, the project must be approved. We help ensure the required steps are completed so work can move forward.

Installation or Repair

Once approved, the septic system is installed or repaired according to the evaluation and local requirements.

Finishing Work

After installation, we complete grading and site preparation so the area is ready for use.
